WB Yeats: Join me in Sligo to celebrate #Yeats2015, the poet’s birth centenary
On this 150th anniversary of Yeats’s birth, Sligo will see the best gathering yet of international Yeats scholars and players for an extravaganza of lectures, workshops, drama, poetry, tours, excursion, music and song.
As part of my crowdfunder to create a very special edition book to celebrate #Yeats2015, I’m gathering a group of us together to attend the summer school.
I’m going for the full two weeks and you can join me, and some other friends, for either one week or two.
This will be a very special celebration. As well as attending the summer school together, with its mix of lectures and learning, rest and relaxation in “Yeats Country”, you will be invited to the launch of my Secret Rose at Yeats House and afterwards for dinner at the private home of Damien Brennan, president of the Yeats society.
Damien and his wife Paula are famous for their beautiful home on Lough Gill, the lake that inspired some of Yeats favourite poems. Expect an evening of poetry and magic, surrounded by a fine collection of contemporary art, generous fine dining, exceedingly good company and Irish hospitality.
If you’d like to join us, you’ll need to hurry. The School starts on 27 July 2015.

The Summer School
Each weekday morning, talks are offered at 9.30am and 11.15am in the Hawkswell Theatre and the afternoons offer week-long seminars, in groups of 15, from 4.30pm to 6.00pm.
Afternoons are free for fun and frolics, reading in the Yeats Society Library, or exploring Sligo and the surrounding landscape, which includes the wild, West of Ireland scenery in places such as Knocknarea, Ben Bulben, Rosses Point, Strandhill and many other locations with resonance for Yeats fans.
This part of Ireland also offers great hiking, spectacular beaches, world-class golf courses, exhilarating surfing and excellent pubs and restaurants.
I’d love you to join me, and a select group of friends, in this very special year for Yeats lovers everywhere.
The idea is to be part of the celebrations of Yeats 125th birth anniversary (#Yeats2015), enjoy great company, immerse yourself in poetry and song, make new friends and take away indelible memories.
All the while knowing you helped to support an indie passion project and create a most beautiful book.
If you’d like to join us, you’ll need to hurry. The School starts on 27 July 2015.
